Murphy Beds for Pensacola Homes

A Murphy bed lets one room be a guest room, an office or a craft room, then folds into a cabinet when you need the floor.

Ours use original Murphy Bed mechanisms, and they fit a standard mattress up to 11 inches deep.

We designed the Patrick Murphy Bed with a fold-down desk and side units for storage, in painted or stained wood or in melamine. It was built for a Gulf Breeze customer.

From guest room to craft room to home office, a Murphy bed gives a spare room a second job. The side units can hold drawers, hanging space or a file cabinet, depending on what you need.

Closets for Pensacola’s Older Houses

Pensacola has plenty of houses built long before walk-in closets were standard. North Hill, for one, is a National Register historic district with houses more than a century old.

Closets in homes that age are often small, shallow or an odd shape. A layout cut to the wall you actually have matters more than a standard size. Bring a photo or a measurement, and we’ll talk through what the space can hold.

How Much Do Custom Closets Cost in Pensacola?

Typical prices run $1,000 to $10,000 for a reach-in closet, $3,000 to $80,000 for a walk-in, and $4,000 to $17,000 for a Murphy bed. Plan on 4 to 8 weeks between your deposit and install day. Bigger jobs can run longer.

The ranges are wide because the jobs are. A single-wall reach-in and a walk-in with drawers on three walls are different projects. The biggest swings come from the size of the space, whether you choose melamine or hardwood, the hardware, and, for a Murphy bed, side units and a desk.

We price your actual space once we’ve talked through the design.

I had the wonderful experience of working with Leslie and the team at Alpha Closet. They really give you the hands on personal treatment. Leslie made me feel more like family than a customer and if you want built-in closets or bookshelves, I can highly recommend their amazing team!

Pensacola Closet and Murphy Bed Questions

How Far Is Your Showroom from Pensacola?

It’s about 19 miles, roughly a 33-minute drive, to our showroom at 6084 Gulf Breeze Pkwy. We’re open weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday visits are by appointment.

Do You Install in Pensacola?

Yes. Pensacola is one of the areas we serve, and the people who install your closet or Murphy bed are our own employees. Alpha Closets & Murphy Beds is licensed and insured.

Can I Work with a Closet Designer in Pensacola?

You’ll work with us, the same company that builds and installs the job. Visit the showroom or call, and we’ll design it together around what you need to store.

How Long Does a Custom Closet or Murphy Bed Take?

Plan on 4 to 8 weeks between your deposit and install day. Larger or more detailed jobs can run longer.

What’s the Difference Between a Custom Closet and a Closet Kit?

A kit comes in standard sizes that you fit into the room. Our closets are designed for your space and built in our own shop, so the layout follows your wall and your clothes instead of a catalog.

Melamine or Wood: Which Should I Choose?

Melamine is a colored laminate bonded to a board core. Hardwood plywood is layered wood veneer that can be stained or painted. We build in both, and we’ll talk through which suits the room, the look you want and your budget. Pictures of the options are on our finishes and colors page.

Is a DIY Murphy Bed Kit Worth It?

You can buy one, but kits are very heavy to handle and parts are often missing. Our beds are built in our shop and installed by our own team, and they fit a standard mattress up to 11 inches deep.

Can a Murphy Bed Double as a Home Office?

Yes, if the bed is designed that way. The Patrick Murphy Bed has a fold-down desk, so a spare room works as a guest room at night and an office or craft room during the day. The side units can hold drawers, hanging space or a file cabinet, depending on what you need.

Do You Build Storage for Other Rooms in My House?

Yes. Besides closets and Murphy beds, we build pantries, laundry rooms, garage storage, entertainment centers, wine racks and cabinetry, and we do commercial work too.

What Warranty Do You Offer?

Closets come with a 10-year workmanship warranty.
